Chapisha App

An AI tool that helps creators and small businesses stop staring at a blank page. It writes platform-ready posts in their brand voice, then schedules and publishes them.

The problem

Small businesses and creators in Kenya know they should post regularly, but writing good content for five platforms, each with its own format and tone, takes hours they don't have. Generic AI chat tools help a bit, but you still have to copy, reformat and post everything by hand.

What we built

Chapisha ("publish" in Swahili) covers the whole loop, from idea to published post, for X, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and Facebook:

  • Platform-ready captions: one idea becomes posts formatted for each network.
  • Brand voice control: choose the tone once, and every post keeps it.
  • Scheduling & auto-posting: queue content and let Chapisha publish it.
  • Drafts & analytics: keep ideas in one place and see what works.

My role

Chapisha was the first product we built in-house at Biashara Softwares, after years of client work. I led the system architecture and development: the generation pipeline around large language models, the scheduling and publishing flow, and the product decisions about what to build first.

What I learned

  • The AI is the easy part to demo. The workflow around it (drafts, voice, scheduling) is what people pay for.
  • Building our own product changed how we scope client work, with more focus on outcomes than features.
